Making Connections between two Texts
Have your child choose two books at his or her reading level! Then, for each book, have your child complete one of the following activities. Children who complete two activities over the summer and bring them to school in the fall will get to participate in a celebration event!
Writing Activities Make lists Write in a journal Send letters or postcards Take photos and write captions for them Write How-To stories about things they have done Write plays Research a topic you are interested in and write a paper Make a menu for a fake restaurant Practice writing in sand or shaving cream Write alternate endings to a favorite book
